There is always something going on in Český Krumlov in every season. The most up-to-date detailed list of cultural and other events can be found here. We especially recommend the following events:
The town turns into Magical Krumlov last April weekend. This event is focused mainly on kids including the traditional paper lantern procession (with live band) and the burning of the witches. You can roast a sausage over open fire. Adults can shop around at the spring markets or attend one of the many open-air concerts- On the First of May you can kiss your loved one under a blossoming tree on the Square of Love.
Five-petalled Rose Celebrations
For a few days in June the town returns to the period of its greatest glory – to the renaissance period during the reign of the last Rosenbergs. Experience medieval ages in an authentic setting and admire the intricate renaissance costumes as well as the noble cavalry riders in the historical procession through town. Renaissance-themed performances take place all across town.
Český Krumlov International Music Festival
Both Czech and international artists perform during this traditional festival, including some top names from the opera world (such as Jonas Kaufmann or Juan Diego Flórez).
St. Wenceslas Celebrations
This autumnal event celebrates St. Wenceslas, patron of Bohemia and the town of Český Krumlov.
Even outside the summer season there is lots going on in Krumlov. Such as the Wine Festival where you can meet many famous sommeliers and learn about wines from different areas during wine tastings accompanied with traditional foods for the region.
Advent, Christmas, New Year
Traditional Christmas markets, carol singing, Christmas for the bears, concerts, fireworks etc.
